Fjallvaettir, derived from Old Norse and meaning "mountain spirit," was founded by a passionate husband and wife team residing in the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. With a rich heritage stemming from their ancestral roots in America, Sweden, Finland, and Switzerland, the Olofssons possess a deep connection to the Appalachian region, blending centuries-old traditions with their unique creative vision. Handmade drums, rattles, and wood crafts capture the spirit of the mountains they call home and those of their ancestors from near and far away. Our creations are made from natural materials that are often sourced locally during our explorations through the mountains we proudly call home.
